Even though entering their first-ever continental campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muรฑoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure direct passage to the knockout stages, particularly following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Opportunity
This match provided a platform for several Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne team that had finished their domestic season were outmatched against a mostly second-string Palace outfit. The Londoners were already weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muรฑoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

Shelbourne were clinging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for a couple of robust tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.
A solitary worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
