Zohran Mamdani Promises a 'Fresh Chapter' for New York City in Inaugural Address
During an initial day in the mayor's office, Zohran Mamdani vowed to “reimagine” America's largest city, declaring “a fresh chapter” and an audacious beginning to his tenure.

The new democratic socialist, who was a relatively obscure state assemblyman, has become the city's first Muslim mayor. He additionally marked a milestone by being the inaugural to be sworn in using the Islamic holy text.
